Town Board Meeting Minutes

1. Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chairman Duane Johnson.  Others present were Supervisors Jeff Stellrecht and Gary Crosby, Treasurer Donna Meeds, and David Coon, Clerk. Five town residents also attended.*

​2. All parties present were notified to silence cell phones and other devices.
3. Public Comment: Bill Schrooten on Poquette Lake Landing Road asked out black topping of the road. It was discussed that the Town will be applying for DNR grants that pay 50% of the project and the DNR will have rules about how and where the black topping it done.
4. The Minutes of the July 8, 2025, town board meeting were approved on a Crosby/Stellrecht motion.
5. Board of Review Minutes from June 10, 2025 approved on a Stellrecht/Crosby Motion. 
6. The Treasurer’s report was read and reviewed. 
7. The Financial review was conducted. 
8. The renewal of the Rural Mutual Policy was discussed. The Town’s agent will be requested to come to the next Board meeting and the Town will work to have the 2002 International truck removed.
9. The Propane Pre-buy was approved on a Crosby/Stellrecht Motion.
10. Proposal from possible new Assessor was discussed. An initial Stellrecht motion to approve the new assessor was made and then withdrawn after discussion. The Board will request that the possible new assessor come to the next Board Meeting to discuss the contract further.
11. Road Maintenance Report: Mowing is being done and the tractor is running well. The DNR has approved the culverts for the Town Hall Road bridge project which is significantly less expensive than installing a box bridge. The County will do the hiring for the project and the Town will pay half of the costs. Culverts are being planned to be done this fall. 
12. Clerks Report: None. 
13. Monthly correspondence reviewed.
14. Approval of monthly expenditures. Stellrecht/Crosby motion to approve checks #10738 to #10747 in the amount of $23,529.99, was approved.
15. September 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. was set for the next Board Meeting. 
16. The Meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m. on a Crosby/Stellrecht motion.
